Listen: on our site, PRX, Mixcloud — full track list with links
We have to go back to the ocean quite frequently because it’s such a source of inspiration for so many artists. We’ve got so many fresh releases to share with you, we can’t even fit them all in. An ocean of music! Plus a poem and a field recording or two.
The ocean connects us to everything: the forest, the moon, the stars, whales, crabs, our own hearts, even churros. What does fried pastry dough have to do with the ocean? Well, you’ll just have to listen to find out. Be sure to hit the playlist (linked above) for more information about the featured artists, including a music video.
A special shout goes out to El Compost del Sistema for contributing exclusive content to this episode.
Radio syndication update: We’d like to welcome WOUB-FM to the fold. Based in Athens, Ohio, they broadcast at 91.3 FM, and it looks like they’ve assigned Earth Eclectic to their Monday afternoon lineup at 3PM Eastern. We’re especially excited by this development as they’re affiliated with National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Radio Exchange (PRX). This is our first regular carriage through PRX, and we hope it leads to more, because the world needs to hear this music.
Social media update: We established an Instagram presence first, when it became abundantly clear that the most of the artists we feature are on that platform. We established a presence on Mastodon because that platform is more aligned with our values. Now we’ve established a presence on Facebook in recognition of the fact that most of our listeners are probably there. If you’re there, please follow the Earth Eclectic page on Facebook.
