Earth Eclectic 0098 celebrates one of the tiniest animals hosted by Gaia. Tardigrades, also known as Little Water Bears and Moss Piglets, are kind of like the superheroes of the animal kingdom. Their species has survived several mass extinctions and can withstand the intense pressure of the deep seas, boiling and freezing temperatures, the vacuum of outer space and can even go for years without water or food. They live in tropical rainforests, mountain waters, mosses and lichens, and even the Antarctic. All their superpowers have gotten them quite a bit of attention in the science world and popular culture. The list goes on for what they can do, too much to mention here, but worthy of further exploration.
