This week on the Earth Eclectic Radio Hour, host Bart Everson presents “Songs of Mother Gaia,” a global musical invocation of Earth’s nurturing feminine presence. Beginning with Triimurtii’s hip-hop introduction and flowing into Cascaria’s experimental rock, the journey traverses Portugal with Kingdom of Pineal’s world fusion before returning to Virginia for Jon Shuemaker’s spoken-word collaboration. The first set concludes with live mantra chanting from Australia’s Bhaktiful and Greek electronic artist Mean Flow’s ambient meditation. After a brief pause, we return with Grammy-nominated composer Cheryl B. Engelhardt’s celestial collaboration featuring Joanie Leeds and Chava Mirel, followed by Canadian sitarist Prashant M. John’s “Goyama” from his Tandava album. The heart-opening continues with David Jackson’s intimate “Dear Mother Gaia,” written after a nature-inspired collaboration with lyricist Jennifer Mathews. Detroit’s Shallow Stairs offers their indie rock interpretation before the journey concludes with Finnish power metal pioneers Stratovarius’ epic 8-minute “Mother Gaia” from their millennial album Infinite. From whispered prayers to thunderous declarations, these artists reveal how the ancient concept of Earth as mother continues to inspire creative reverence across genres and generations.

Thanks to the Pacifica AudioPort, we’re now on the schedule for WGOT-LP 100.1 FM in Gainesville, Florida. It’s our first regular syndication, and we couldn’t be more pleased. We salute “The Robin Hoods of Radio”!
And now a brief message from Laura Dedelow, who hosts the even-numbered episodes of the Earth Eclectic Radio Hour.
The Gaian Way has supported our radio series from the beginning, and we’ve recently clarified that relationship. We’re delighted to announce that Earth Eclectic is an official project of the Gaian Way. We’re grateful for the support we’ve already received. Above all, we’re grateful to know other people believe in what we’re doing.
How much does it cost to produce the show? Surprisingly little! Bart and I are volunteers; we don’t get paid for our work. Beyond simply announcing the tracks played, we supply our own equipment, we do our own research, we record in our homes, and we do all the audio engineering ourselves.
We do this because we care about bringing music to those who are hungering for that heartfelt connection between humanity, the more-than-human world, Gaia, Earth, Nature.
Currently, our main ongoing expense is music acquisition. Sometimes we beg artists for freebies, but most of the music we acquire comes out of our own pockets. It may only cost $20 to $30 to finance a whole episode this way, which is a remarkably low figure. However, when you keep in mind that it’s a weekly program, you can see this expense easily runs over a thousand dollars.
Although this is a labor of love, it can get costly.
If you are in a position to do so, you can support Earth Eclectic through the Gaian Way by financial donation. Just add a note to your online donation or check, “For Earth Eclectic.” Since most of our purchases are through Bandcamp, you can know that most of your money will ultimately reach the artists who produce the audio you hear on the program.
We’ll keep playing the music regardless, but if you choose to contribute, we’ll certainly put it to good use.
Whether you are able to contribute financially or not, please know that we appreciate your listenership. We appreciate you spending time with us each week to share music and other audio art on Earth Eclectic.
