PSA: This week, we wanted to give a shout out to the Indigenous Peoples Burning Network. It’s a support network among Native American communities that are revitalizing their traditional fire cultures in a contemporary context. The network is led by Native American elders and practitioners, and it’s centered on indigenous cultural burning to help bring fire back into balance. And we found out about them because they’re part of a larger partnership dating back to the year 2000. They’re called the Fire Networks, and it includes the Fire Learning Network, the Prescribed Fire Training Exchanges, and the Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network as well, all working to restore balance to our relationship with fire. To learn more about the partnership, you can visit FireNetworks.org.
